Session Goals:

  • manipulate the advanced and interactive functions of PowerPoint that enhance its value as an instructional tool integrated across the curriculum

  • become comfortable enough with the advanced functions of PowerPoint to teach these functions to your students to support inquiry-based learning in the classroom

  • discover new ways to use this program and evaluate student presentations using it

    Create a presentation that...

    1. Is nonlinear, meaning the slides do not just move from slide to slide in a straight-line sequence

    2. One slide may have links to many other slides.

    3. All slides have navigation buttons.

    4. Includes at least two aspects of the slide on the Slide Master so they appear on every slide

    5. Will be published to the Internet

    6. Integrates video from unitedstreaming

    7. Is useful in the classroom

    8. Students will use or a sample assignment for them a high-level thinking activity, not just notes or a fact-based quiz.
